On Thursday, March 13th I had the most fabulous time gathering with colleagues, family, and close friends to celebrate the launch of my book, Finding Peace with Your Body: A Body Image Guide for Women! It was really wonderful to share this special moment with the people who have walked alongside me in my professional, and now authorial, journey.

Special thanks to Rachel Creighton for taking gorgeous photos of the evening and, more importantly, for hosting us at her gorgeous and intimate space,  The Wildflower Collective. TWC is a thoughtfully designed space where women can focus on themselves and their own growth. Whether it's improving their mental health, working on their small business, or pursuing new creative endeavors, women can find a space for themselves there, and we encourage you to check it out! Because Rachel generously allowed us to use the space, we made a donation to a cause she is very committed to, The Alexis Joy Foundation. We encourage everyone to learn more about it as they are doing meaningful work for women and families who are suffering from and affected by perinatal mood and anxiety disorders- which is something many of us can relate to!

Two other inspiring entrepreneurial women from my community who contributed to the ambiance of the evening are Casey Dehel of What’s on the Table- her sourdough focaccia and tomato pie are delicious- and Carolyn Tully of Blondie’s Bakery Treats- whose bookmark shaped royal icing cookies were both adorable and delicious.

I am continually inspired by the women around me- my colleagues, my clients, my neighbors, family, and friends. All the women out there doing the work of finding peace with their bodies- while also working, creating, volunteering, parenting- are incredible. “Please don’t give up…stick with it…the (progress) will come.” (p. 169)

UPCOMING EVENTS

This coming Saturday- March 29- I will be at Moore Books in Havertown for an author event! Please join me at 7:30 for an evening of sips, snacks, and solid conversation about finding peace with our bodies! I will have books and merch for sale, and you’ll also be able to stroll around the bookstore and purchase any other books in stock!  Make a gals’ night of it and grab dinner at one of the many awesome Havertown restaurants afterwards!

My first author event was at Narberth Bookshop on March 19, and I am grateful for the owner’s hospitality. Ellen’s shop is a staple in the Narberth community. If you have a bookstore or venue in your area that hosts author events, I would love to connect! It is my desire to see all women freed from the burden of negative body image, so the more communities I can visit, the better!

If you have been positively impacted by my book, it would mean so much to me if you would show your support by doing one, or all, of the following:

  • Leave a positive review on a bookseller’s website

  • Purchase a copy of the book for a friend, family member, or colleague

  • Follow me on social media and share my posts and reels

  • Attend my next event on March 29, or connect me to a venue or organization for another author event or speaking engagement

THANK YOU!
